Welcome to Ida's World, a magical place hidden within the Great Gumtree Valley, where friendship, kindness and adventure are discovered every day. Created especially for children up to six years of age, Ida's World introduces young audiences to a colourful cast of Australian animal characters who learn, play and solve problems together.
At the heart of these stories is Percy the Post Pigeon, a positive and reliable character who always finds his way. Through Percy's adventures, children are introduced to the remarkable abilities of pigeons and the importance of friendship, teamwork and helping others.
Ida's World has been created with support from the Australian Pigeon Council Ltd as part of its educational vision to promote an understanding of pigeons, wildlife and the natural world. Through music, stories and imaginative adventures, the Australian Pigeon Council hopes to inspire curiosity, learning and a lifelong appreciation of pigeons, animals and nature.
Meet the Friends of Ida's World
Meet Percy the Post Pigeon
Percy the Post Pigeon lives beneath the Grand Gumtree and is Ida's closest friend. Carrying his special satchel wherever he goes, Percy delivers letters, surprises and important messages throughout the valley. Kind, dependable and brave, Percy teaches children that helping others and never giving up are some of life's greatest strengths.
Ida the Whatapillar
Ida is a cheerful and curious little caterpillar who loves exploring the Great Gumtree Valley. She brings her friends together and reminds everyone that kindness and courage can overcome any challenge.
Kevin the Koala
Kevin lives in Koala Corner and is known for his calm and thoughtful nature. Whenever the friends need advice, Kevin is always ready to help.
Katie the Kangaroo
Katie loves to jump, race and play. Full of energy and excitement, she encourages her friends to be active and adventurous.
Ernie the Emu
Fast, funny and always asking questions, Ernie is eager to discover something new every day.
Murray the Magpie
Murray welcomes each morning with his beautiful songs. Although he sometimes swoops too quickly, he always means well and loves his friends.
Wally the Wombat
Strong and dependable, Wally spends his days digging tunnels and building wonderful places for his friends to explore.

Ellie the Echidna
