Objects and Purpose

The Company is established as a not-for-profit charity with the purpose of advancing culture by:

promoting, supporting and advancing the keeping, breeding, homing, showing and exhibition of pigeons across Australia;
promoting education, training, animal welfare and public awareness regarding pigeons;
establishing and operating a Pigeon Museum for the preservation and public exhibition of artefacts, records and memorabilia of historical, scientific and cultural significance relating to pigeons, pigeon-keeping and their important role in connecting Australian communities, communication, nation building and Australia’s military history;
obtaining licences, approvals or authorities required for members to conduct pigeon-related events, including fundraising and homing events;
supporting research, conservation, and the use of pigeons in communication, resilience and national defence contexts;
acquiring, preserving and documenting Australian stories of connection, exploration and community throughout early settlement, and the vital communications delivered by pigeons during war and peace;
representing affiliated clubs, individuals and pigeon-related businesses in dealings with government, industry and the community;
engaging in advocacy and representation for members in furtherance of these purposes; and
doing all things necessary or incidental to the attainment of these purposes.
